On June 21–22, 2022, CJLC conducted a study tour to Mie Prefecture and 45 Maple Program students participated. On the first day of the trip, they visited Meoto Iwa and Mikimoto Pearl Island. First, the students visited the Meoto Iwa and the nearby Amano Iwaya and Futami Okitama Shrine, guided by tour guides. Next, they enjoyed female divers’ shows and viewed museum exhibits on Mikimoto Pearl Island.
On the second day, they went to Ise Jingu and Okage Yokocho. After visiting Naiku, they had free time at Okage Yokocho. They had a good time having lunch or buying souvenirs from Ise.
In addition to the tour, the students experienced Japanese culture, such as Japanese-style rooms, Japanese cuisine, hot springs, and yukata, at the Japanese-style hotel they stayed in. Through a two-day trip, they were able to experience Japanese culture that could not be experienced in the classroom and deepen their understanding of Japan.
