Let me know! Minoh! Seminar

On February 15, 2022, the Maple Program held the “Let me know! Minoh! Seminar” as the 15th class of the Maple Directed Research & Reading (MDR). The seminar was organized by the Maple Program in collaboration with NHK(Japan Broadcasting Corporation)Osaka Station, and was attended by Maple Program students, students of the Japanese Studies Program, and Japanese students from Osaka University. Fifty-five students participated online, and 25 participated on-site.
The seminar began with a viewing of the NHK(Japan Broadcasting Corporation)Osaka Station program “Eetoko (which means “good place” in a Kansai dialect) The wind of the future blows! Mountain Village – Minoh City, Osaka,” followed by a discussion on Minoh’s vegetables and the history and prospects of community development with farmer from Minoh City and Minoh Semba Town Planning Council members. Students were able to gain various information and insights from the video and discussions with local people. We hope that the students’ interest in Minoh, their study abroad destination, grew through this seminar.
