This year, 53 students from 21 countries and regions have completed their year in the Maple Program. The completion ceremony was held on August 12, 2021, and Professor Kato, a director of the Center for Japanese Language and Culture, awarded certificates of completion to the students. In addition, four students who could not come to Japan participated in the graduation ceremony online from their own countries. Certificates will be mailed to those students at a later date. Although we didn’t have the usual invitations of guests, 2 students gave heartwarming speeches regarding their year at Osaka University, and all of the maple students looked back on the year they have spent with fondness.
